# Add Aptio to Discord

Set up Aptio for your server.

You need the **Manage Server** permission in Discord to add the bot.

1.  Choose **Add to Discord** and pick your server.
2.  Review the permissions and choose **Authorize**.
3.  Sign in to Aptio and open your organization.
4.  Under **Manage**, choose which Discord roles can manage training.

If your server already uses the Nøyra Suite bot for Crew, you don't need to add it again.

## What the bot needs

-   **Manage Roles**, to give the role a course awards for passing.
-   The ability to send **direct messages** about required courses, due dates, grades and replies.

## Giving roles

Discord only lets a bot give roles below its own. Move the bot's role above any role a course awards, under **Server Settings → Roles**. Aptio never gives or removes roles with moderation or administrator permissions.
