# Certificates and roles

What you get for passing.

Passing a course earns a certificate showing your score and the date. You can open it from the course card, and print it.

## Expiry

Some certificates are valid for a set time, so training stays up to date. The certificate shows its **Valid until** date.

## Discord roles

A course can give you a Discord role when you pass. If it doesn't arrive, see [Troubleshooting](/aptio/troubleshooting).

## What a certificate means

A certificate shows you passed a course set by your organization. It isn't an accredited qualification.
